Michael Cerveris releases a new album "Piety" on February 5th and February 19th in the U.K.

Michael says "when you make a record (or most anything you care about), you spend your heart and your self, you face the gulf between your skills and your dreams, you battle your belief in your fundamental unworthiness. You toil and sacrifice resources, time and comfort--yours and other people's. You borrow the talents of your more accomplished friends and fight the fear that every note they play is just them being polite.

but you do it anyway...
because...why are you even asking because?

and then you "release" it, which is the perfect description for the terrifying feeling of letting your creation go into the world to be acknowledged, disdained, embraced or dismissed and there's nothing you can do but cringe and brace for the reverberations
and if you're very very very fortunate, someone with a gift for insight and perception, a skill with words, and a lifelong passion and commitment to music and art not only listens to what you and your friends made, but reflects it back to you and essentially gives you back all that you put into it, wrapped up as a gift"
